9 to 5: The Musical Tickets

After theatres across the UK were forced to shut down until 31 May 2020 due to coronavirus, many shows have had to either postpone or even cancel their runs altogether. Unfortunately, 9 to 5 was one such show. Originally set to run at London's Savoy Theatre until 23 May 2020, the Dolly Parton musical's West End run has now come to an end.

Dolly Parton's hit West End musical 9 to 5 will feature some fresh new faces in the lead roles beginning next week. The casting shuffle comes just two and a half months before the show's closing at London's Savoy Theatre.

It has just been confirmed that Louise Redknapp and Brian Conley are set to reprise their roles as Violet and Franklin Hart Jr. in 9 to 5 respectively whilst the Dolly Parton musical simultaneously announces that it will officially wrap up its run on 23 May 2020. The show is currently starring Baywatch actor David Hasselhoff in the role of the girls' evil boss.

The first production shots of David Hasselhoff in 9 to 5 have been released. News that the former Baywatch star would be joining the London cast had the West End shook. Now, The Hoff has taken over the role of Franklin Hart Jr as of 2 December 2019 and will continue to portray the character until 8 February 2020. Be sure to catch him at the Savoy Theatre whilst you can!

As I headed to the theatre, I wondered if I was more looking forward to seeing the musical 9 to 5 or to having the "Savoy experience". For the uninitiated, the West End's Savoy Theatre is a 20-minute walk from Waterloo — perfect for us South Londoners — and the experience starts as you get nearby. The theatre is tucked in beside the Savoy Hotel in the Strand and you soon see that it's beautiful, quirky and always a treat to visit.  

It has just been announced today (28 October 2019) that former Baywatch star David Hasselhoff is set to replace Brian Conley as Franklin Hart Jr in Dolly Parton's West End production of 9 to 5 The Musical. The Hoff will officially step into the role in early December just in time for the holiday season. 9 to 5 is currently serving up a savoury "cup of ambition" at the Savoy Theatre in London.

The West End production of Dolly Parton's 9 to 5 The Musical announces today that Chelsea Halfpenny, best known for her roles in Emmerdale and Byker Grove, will be taking over the role of Judy Bernly from Amber Davies in the hit production. 9 to 5 is now booking at London's Savoy Theatre until 4 April 2020. 

Dolly Parton's brainchild, 9 to 5 The Musical, is set to work overtime at London's Savoy Theatre. The feel-good production announced today that the show will continue to run at the West End venue until 2020 with 300,000 additional tickets released.
