Paris, 1950 - a shy, unassuming civil servant, Dusoleil, lives alone and works diligently in a dreary office. To pass the time, he writes letters to his mother and daydreams about the beautiful Isabelle, who is kept locked away by her controlling husband. When Dusoleil miraculously gains the ability to walk through walls, he not only begins to lead a double life, stealing from the rich and giving to the poor to right the wrongs of his war-impoverished Parisian neighbours, but also gains the self-confidence to woo Isabelle and, just for a while, live the life he has always longed for.

AMOUR, a musical fantasy about daring to dream and the power of self belief, has music by multi award-winning Michel Legrand with English lyrics by Jeremy Sams (from the original French by Didier Van Cauwelaert). Adapted from the 1943 short story Le Passe-Muraille by Marcel Aymé, AMOUR opened on Broadway in 2002 and was nominated for five Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

Cast to be announced.

Creative team: Director Hannah Chissick, Choreographer Matt Cole, Production Designer Adrian Gee, Lighting Designer Rob Halliday, Sound Designer Andrew Johnson, Musical Director Jordan Li-Smith, Producer & Casting Director Danielle Tarento

My husband, daughter and I really enjoyed AMOUR. It was intimate, well acted and sung, not yelled! Loved the use of props. Beautifully orchestrated! The musicians were also great. Magnifique!

Fantastic!

Paul van Ewijk

Good show. Inventive staging. Loved it.

Mary Kotsalos

I had a hard time paying attention due to it being so warm in the theatre. 5is is why I kept getting lost in the storyline. But the performers did awesome.

The cast were excellent. The show was beautifully directed, choreographed and designed. The band were also excellent. It is a very quirky show with lovely music but it is not a hit. The cast and creatives did the very best job possible with the material they had.

Terence Braddock

It was a tour de force. The entire company gave a great vocal and acting performance. There was much drama, humour and sadness. The whole piece was delivered with tremendous energy. The band played superbly. Good songs.

JUDY KOART

It was fun to go to a show in an unexpected funky little theatre. The play was fun and the actors did a great job.

Jack Kennerley

Thought it was a great, at times touching, but mostly zany musical with wonderfully funny songs and a super cast! I do think it should maybe be called The Man Who Could Walk Through Walls though as “Amour” lends itself to a more chiche sounding show.

Interesting, all cast gave everything to their performance.

Both my friend and I loved this show, so funny in parts and sad in others. The actors were utterly convincing in their roles.

Mr Robert Gooda

Brilliant show, great preparation & execution, superb lyrics with top music. Well done!
