Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss did it again. Bringing in a new wave of musical theatre, the unspeakably talented duo wowed the world with their debut show SIX The Musical. Their follow up was another absolute corker - the incredibly relatable Why Am I So Single? And now, despite no longer playing at the Garrick Theatre, it is an Olivier nominee! The show will be battling out with The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, MJ the Musical and Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812 for Best New Musical.  The show follows two musical theatre writers struggling with dating and the single life. Loosely autobiographical, it’s a hilarious and humble tale of modern courtship and platonic love. It’s made singles say: “oh my God, same” and marrieds say: “thank god we don’t have to do *that* anymore.” Almost immediately after opening, one of the Why Am I So Single? songs - 8 Dates - went viral on TikTok and is still used as a “get ready with me” banger. There’s a Monster in Your Show (14 August) Following a critically acclaimed UK tour, the musical adaptation of Tom Fletcher’s best selling children's book makes its London transfer. Perfect timing for the summer holidays!  A group of performers are preparing to start their show, but quickly discover they are not alone. Little Monster wants to be part of the fun too! He quickly takes to the stage, and brings his best friends, Dragon, Alien and Unicorn sling for the adventure too.  With original songs from McFly’s Tom Fletcher, expect all the comedy and chaos from There’s a Monster in Your Book, live on stage! Opening in 1889, the Garrick Theatre was named after David Garrick, an English actor, playwright, theatre manager and producer. He was a major influence on 18th Century European theatrical practice. The Garrick theatre has mostly been associated in its lifetime with comedies and comedy-dramas – notably No Sex Please, We’re British which played for four years and the multi-award-winning production of JB Preistley’s An Inspector Calls in 1995. What are the best seats at the Garrick Theatre? The Garrick’s auditorium is split over three levels, consisting of the Stalls, Dress Circle and Grand Circle. The Stalls give an unobstructed view of the stage from most areas, although there is a slight restriction from Row N backwards due to the overhang of the Dress Circle. Why Am I So Single? casting directors, Harry Blumenau and Sarah-Jane Price, have been busy swiping right on a host of talented performers, and today their (professional) relationships have been made social media official! The new cast members have made it on to the grid. It’s big news guys. Never one to shy away from adventures, the cast are committing themselves to their blossoming relationship, and will be moving into the Garrick Theatre together from 27 August where they’ll stay until the lease is up on 13 February 2025. But who has caught Blumenau and Price’s eye?
